Sales Professional vs Order Taker

Sales – The profession – Once Mastered is Recession Proof.

In a down market or an up market the Sales Professional will survive. In the down market, the Sales Professional does great and in an up market they do amazing.

What is a Sales Professional? – According to www.Businessdictionary.com – An individual who sells goods and services to other entities. The successfulness of a salesperson is usually measured by the amount of sales he/she can make during a given period and how good that person is in persuading individuals to make a purchase.

The Order Taker – by www.mbaskool.com – Order taker can be defined as a type of sales person who collects orders of goods and commodities but he/she does not make any attempts to increase existing sales, increase the frequency of orders or to find new customers.

The difference between the two in income is monumental. The Order Taker makes on average of $24,000 a year and the Sales Professional makes well over 6 figures annually and many reach the top 1% of all earners.

What separates these two is the Professional has studied the greats and created enough action to rise to the top. The Order Taker just wants to

Here are the 4 things you must master to be a Sales Professional:

1.   Process – you must have a process from the intro to the close, you must have a process.

2.   Salesmanship – This one is under practiced and takes some basic knowledge in human behavior. Building rapport and mirroring your customer is the basics and I go in more detail in my books “The Drive to 30” or “Driving Sales What it Takes to Sell 1,000 cars a month”

3.   Closing the Sale – This is a very crucial step and you need to know when to close and not talk past the sale, or know the difference between a complaint or an objection. Grant Cardone has the best book I recommend call “The Closers Survival Guide” I highly recommend it.

4.   Follow-Up – Without follow-up you will cost yourself tons of sales and missed opportunities. You must have a schedule, identify your power base, and the right software to access your customer base. We use the software we’ve created to do this called www.theautominer.com

Stick to these 4 principles… Master them, apply massive action behind them and you will become a Sales Professional in no time.
