What is a Sales Professional?

“Being a professional is doing the things you love to do, on the days you don’t feel like doing them.”

Julius Erving

Do you fancy yourself a “Professional”? are you doing what’s necessary, even when you don’t feel like it? These are the types of questions you must ask yourself when you sit idle or aren’t seeing immediate results. Aristotle said,” We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” You must stay consistent and continue to put in the work day in and day out to reach the top of your mountain. Everyone has different goals and as a Sales Professional you must train every day and must make the calls.

I like Julius Erving ‘s quote, and here’s my addition to it. Being a professional is doing the things you don’t want to do because they’re necessary, or doing what’s necessary even when you don’t want to.

On a side note: I like quotes and words because without the words or thoughts being spoken there cannot be action. Communication is vital. Now there will be those people that say actions speak louder than words and it is a true statement depending on the context. Because the action behind the words of knowledge spoken is vital, but whether your communicating with sign language or words, it’s what’s necessary to get moving in the right direction.

Getting back about doing what’s necessary. As a Sales Professional in the Car Business you must make phone calls. If you don’t make phone calls then you cannot consider yourself a true professional.   Here are 2 things that are a must everyday:

1.     You must follow up with your customers and prospects daily.

2.     You must train every day.

Without these 2 elements, you cannot reach new heights in this industry or level up. These elements will continue to help you increase your sales.  Stick to these basic fundamentals and watch your income grow.
